Visit Java, Indonesia

Experience the magnificent beauty of Java, Indonesia. Situated between Sumatra and Bali, this volcano-dotted island is the geographic and economic centre of Indonesia and home to more than half of the country’s population. On our journey, we visited the incredible and majestic 9th-century world’s largest Buddhist temple of Borobudur, with its awe-inspiring intricate carvings and stupas set against the backdrop of lush green landscapes. We have also seen the equally stunning Prambanan Temple, a magnificent Hindu temple complex dedicated to the Trimurti. Marvel at the towering spires and the detailed reliefs that narrate ancient Hindu epics. We have discovered the colourful village of Jodipan, often called the “Rainbow Village.” This once-ordinary neighbourhood has been transformed into a vibrant canvas of murals and brightly painted houses, offering a unique and visually stunning experience. We have seen the otherworldly beauty of Mount Bromo, an active volcano part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. A must-visit destination with the surreal landscape during sunrise, with its smoky crater set amidst a sea of sand. Finally, we hiked to the bottom of the Ijen Crater, one of only two places on Earth where you can see the blue fire as well as the world’s most acidic sulfuric lake.
